NTA certificate PDF between 50 KB and 300 KB
NTA's application forms — NEET UG, JEE Main, CUET UG and UGC NET — take certificates as PDFs between 50 and 300 KB. The ceiling is the familiar problem; the floor is the surprise. A clean DigiLocker certificate can be 30 KB and the portal refuses it for being too small. What the NTA forms upload checks
- Certificates are uploaded as PDF between 50 KB and 300 KB.
- Files under 50 KB are rejected just like files over 300 KB.
- The certificate must be legible — the category, certificate number, issuing authority and date are checked if you are shortlisted.
- OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must fall within the validity period the bulletin specifies.

Caps on this page follow published portal guidance and commonly reported limits as of September 2026. The portal's own notice or on-screen error always wins — type its number into the cap box if it differs.
Why a generic compressor gets this wrong
Padding is the part most tools get wrong. To get a 30 KB PDF above 50 KB, the usual advice is to re-scan at a higher resolution or print and scan again — both of which change the document and sometimes make it worse. KBcut instead adds an unused block of empty data inside the PDF: the file grows into the window, every viewer shows exactly the same page, and the original text stays selectable. If the certificate is too big, it compresses as usual and lands between the two limits. The result badge shows the final size against the 50–300 KB window, so you can see it passes before you log in.

- The window is already 50–300 KB. Leave Colour on, since certificates often carry coloured seals.

Questions
Why would a small PDF be rejected?
NTA sets a minimum to catch blank or broken uploads. A genuine 30 KB certificate trips the same check — KBcut pads it to about 110 KB.
Does padding change my certificate?
No. The page content is untouched; an unused data block is added inside the file. Any PDF viewer shows the same page.
Can I fix a wrong upload later?
NTA opens a correction window after registration closes. Upload the corrected certificate then.
Is it the same for CUET and UGC NET?
Yes, they run on the same NTA form engine. Always glance at the bulletin for your exam and cycle.
Can two certificates go in one upload?
Only when the bulletin asks for them in one slot. Photos of both certificates selected together become one PDF inside the window; two separate PDFs need Merge PDF first.
