Why a generic compressor gets this wrong
Aadhaar updates are reviewed by a person, and the most expensive mistake is a document they cannot read. Should I mask my Aadhaar number on the proof?
The proof document is usually a different document (passport, bill), so there is nothing to mask. Never upload a document with someone else's details.

Can I use a black & white photocopy?
Use a colour scan of the original if you can. A photocopy is harder to verify and more likely to be sent back.
Is the document sent anywhere by this page?

The update form also takes PNG, but JPEG and PDF are smaller for scans. Choose Output: JPEG for a single photo, or PDF to keep the front and back together.
