COMEDK documents as JPEG under 160 KB
The COMEDK UGET application wants supporting documents as JPEG images — not PDFs — with a size cap around 160 KB. That catches almost everyone out, because the marks card came from DigiLocker as a PDF and the ID proof is a 3 MB phone photo. Why a generic compressor gets this wrong
A 160 KB JPEG is a comfortable budget for one A4 page if the pixel size is right, and a miserable one if it is not. KBcut renders the PDF page at 200 DPI and lets the search shrink it only as far as needed — usually to around 1200–1500 pixels tall for a marks card, which keeps every subject and grade readable. From a phone photo it corrects the orientation tag first, so the image does not arrive sideways on the review screen. Photo and signature?

Will it work for KCET / KEA?
Yes — KEA also takes documents as images. Change the cap to the KEA limit.
My PDF is already under 160 KB — why is it rejected?
Because the upload slot expects an image, not a PDF. The form checks the file type, so save the page as JPEG here even when the PDF is small enough.
