KBcut · free · no upload

Anything under X KB.

The portal says "file size should not exceed 100 KB". KBcut makes the PDF or photo fit that exact number — and a minimum too, when the form has one — without turning it to mush. For GST, scholarships, exam forms, Aadhaar, EPFO, income tax and MCA.

What a chatbot can't hand you, KBcut does

why this exists
Floor + ceiling

Inside the window, both ends

NTA refuses 30 KB as firmly as 400 KB. KBcut searches for the best quality under the cap and pads up to the floor without changing what the page shows.

True black & white

Scans 3–5× smaller

Text pages stored as real 1-bit images stay razor sharp at a fraction of colour JPEG size — the difference between a readable and a rejected 100 KB rent agreement.

Leaves good files alone

Already fits? Untouched.

A PDF under the cap comes back byte-for-byte, text and digital signatures intact. Too-big text PDFs can be split into parts instead of blurred.

How KBcut hits a number

For a PDF, each page is rendered to an image at a resolution ladder from 300 DPI down to 40 DPI, and KBcut binary-searches that ladder for the sharpest version under your cap — so it builds four or five candidates, not ten. For photos it searches JPEG quality first and only shrinks pixels when quality alone cannot reach the number. For several photos going into one PDF, the byte budget is shared across all pages at once.

Questions

Which portals are covered?

GST registration, the National Scholarship Portal, COMEDK, NTA forms (NEET, JEE Main, CUET, UGC NET), Rajasthan Police recruitment, PM-KISAN, EPFO, myAadhaar updates, income tax e-proceedings and MCA21 eForms. Any other portal works too: type its cap into the box on any KBcut page.

Why is there a minimum as well as a maximum?

Some forms reject files that are too small — NTA wants certificates between 50 and 300 KB. KBcut pads an undersized file with unused data inside it, so the page looks identical but the size lands in the window.

Will my PDF lose its text?

Only when it has to. A PDF that already fits is handed back untouched. Scans that do not fit are rebuilt from page images, which is what makes the size predictable. For big text PDFs, split instead of compressing.

Is anything uploaded?

No. Every file is rendered, compressed and saved inside your browser tab. Switch to flight mode after the page loads and KBcut still works.
